fresh install Ubuntu Gnome on a SSD

I cleaned up an old X64 computer installed an SSD furthermore there are 3 HD's and a DVD player
I downloaded Ubuntu Gnome 15 also Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 also Yumi installer. I branded a DVD, also installed it on a USB externe HD I changed the startup priorities in the bios but whatever I do nothing will install the software on the SSD. I have the impression that I don't have the right installer. Some-one an advise?

What were the names of the Ubuntu installers you downloaded?

Have you been able to actually boot up into the DVD and, if so, what errors do you get when you try to install Ubuntu?

Just for info, neither of the Ubuntu 15 releases (15.04, 15.10) are long-term releases, if that is important to you (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ubuntu_releases).

Talking Ubuntu Gnome 14 works

I installed the Yumi startup software and Ubuntu Gnome 14 LTS both on an extern SSD. I changed in the BIOS the boot prorities atarted up and it worked on my 2008 Gigabyte MoBo with 2 IDE HD's 1intern SSD and 3 SATA HD's. The capacity is sufficient for Ubuntu Gnome and is fast. Pity is that the Terratec DMX6fire sound card is recognized but does not work. There is no support from Terratec and so no updated drivers and software for this beautiful sound ssystem. Tis is also the fact for Windows10. Pity ,Pity. The same is that there is no Linux software for my Concept2 ergometer. I use software from Digital Rowing which is called RowPro. Neither Linux driver and software.
So I have to stay also on my Windows10 system!!
