Freeze-Up on installation of RH 7

:newbie:
Hello,
I'm playing around with installing Red Hat 7.0 on an old 200mhz desktop I have around. When I attempt an installation, the entire installation process seems to go fine and all .rpm packages seem to be successfully installed. However, after all packages are installed, the workstation freezes-up completetly and doesn't proceed with launching LILO and doesn't re-boot at all. Although I'm installing onto a large hard drive (40g), I was certain to set up the /boot partition in the as the first native Linux partition.

Can someone please help me figure out if there's something I can do to successfully install RH 7? I'd love to be able to get more hands-on exposure to Linux!
Thank you.

Hrm why are you installing such a very old distribution?! That won't get you hands on exposure to Linux at all, not unless you're interested in an ancient version.

I'd suggest using a LiveCD like Morphix on your standard desktop machine (hopefully faster than 200mhz!) if you want to get a taste of it. Remember it'll be slower than a real install would be, but at least it'll be modern.

HI, thanks for the suggestion. I burned the image of Morphix, but wasn't able to boot it. Finally, I just decided to scrap my idea and install SuSE 9.1 on my 633mhz processor computer. SuSE Installed perfectly and so far works great.

As for the old 200mhz Pentium Pro? Well, maybe it'll need to suffice as a technologically-advanced paperweight.
