Fortune in Konsole


Hi, can anyone tell me how to get fortune to display a message everytime I open up konsole? Thanks!

You must install the package "fortune" and uncomment the respective lines from your ".profile".

Or... if you are using debian you can also append fortune to your .bashrc file

Hi, i googled my question and i found a similar solution, I just have no idea where my .profile is

Should be /etc/profile or ~/.bash_profile.

that was a stupid question, i'm sorry. it was right in my home directory, i just wasn't viewing hidden files! thanks!

Also, for anyone else looking for answers in this post, you must execute konsole with the --ls parameter!
