Formatting a zip disk for backup

I have a SCSI 100MB Zip drive connected to my Dell Dimension L700cx using Ubuntu 7.10. The Zip disk shows on the desktop but I can not determine how to format the disk so I can transfer files for backup.

I typically use a GParted for all my formatting and partitioning needs. Just make sure you're working on the correct device (SCSI's are typically /dev/sda, /dev/sdb, etc -- but so are SATA hard disks and USB keys).
