Format for downloading and installing updated Nvidia driver for Suse 9.3?


Suse Linux 9.3 doesnt play ball with the inbuilt Nvidia driver. in what format do i dwnload the updated driver from the Nvidia site, and how do i install the beast on my machine ( downld is not on same machine, so saved to CD)?

Suse 9.3 seems to be waay out of date.

Please try a more recent distribution from here:
http://distrowatch.com
If you scroll down on that page to "Page hit ranking", Mint is top of the list right now (and I am very happy with it).

suse 9 is so old it will never work with any of the current nvidia.run drivers
it is and has been unsupported for YEARS

suse 9.3 when END OF LIFE a long time ago on "April 30th 2007 "
almost 6 YEARS ago

Heh, why are you running a version that is so many years out of date?

Guys, thanks for your help. This is resolved as I have downloaded Suse 12.2 - only problem is that it runs like a pig as my machine is very old and has limited (512mb) RAM. Thanks again.

for a machine with 512 meg
And guessing a old Pentium 4 cpu

i would install CentOS 6.4
it is a free rebuild of RHEL 6.4
i have a different rebuild ( ScientificLinux 6.3 ) running just fine on a computer from 2000/2001
though it has 1 gig ram
