Unhappy format floppy


OK, it's sound stupid but:
I have just "dos" floppy
I can't see my floppy disk in the drive.
I would like to know the command line to format a dos floppy to a linux floppy

The command to format is mkfs (with different options to create different filesystems, for example 'mkfs -t fat /dev/fd0' creates a DOS floppy).

But maybe you don't need to format it. Are you sure the floppy is mounted? If not, open a terminal and run ''mount /mnt/floppy". It may help.

The biggest problem for me rigth now is to find out why my ltsp is so long to be loaded.
It was one of the possibilities wich i tried without succes.

I may not be understanding you correctly, but you don't want to format the floppy, as that will erase everything on it. As mara suggested, as root, 'mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy'
then 'ls /mnt/floppy' should print the contents of the disk....

My "frog" english ....
It's because I copy my file on a dos floppy. As it didn't work, i thought it was the cause. But it is not
