format error


hi,
after format the hard disk we got the error


Disk /dev/sda doesn't contain a valid partition table

Did you created a partition on he drive ?

The message is correct: formatting a hard disk does only formatting it. No attempt is made to create a partition and setting up a file system.
fdisk is the tools for adding a partition table, and mkfs is the tool to set up a file system on the partition.
