Forgot root password
A while ago I thought yea I'd like to learn Linux. I had this p4 dell that I got a while go for gaming. So - I figured I'd partition my HD & have one side windows 2003 & Mandrake 10.1. My ex-best friend was really linux savy and did everything for me. The problem is he & I aren't friends anymore. as time went by I never used linux but after all the problems I had windows [i'm a die-hard mac user] I kinda was like Let me explore this linux stuff. So after looking for help to install my wireless card & everything I realised theres a problem.
I don't have the root password. I can't remember it. I use pretty much the same 3 passwords for everything & it's not it. Is there a possible way to pop in one of these mandrake installation discs & revert to factory system setttings like in mac? So i can restart the password & everything? Or even a simpler route would be wonderful thank you for time & hopefully I haven't broken any rules. |
