Font install on Fluxbox

I am running the lastest version of DSL, using the default Fluxbox...

Anyways, I have been messing around with GIMP and there isnt a very wide selection of fonts. I have a whole bunch of font files for Windows, that I would love to use w/ some of my graphics but I can't figure out how to install them under Linux...

Im compleatly lost with this, and have no idea what to do.

This how to is a touch dated, but the bits about installing Windows TTF fonts still works fine. There are probably a few differences in how Debian handles fonts, but probably not many.
