folder .gvfs

Fedora 14

In my ~ dirctory I have a hidden folder .gvfs

I can't list it, even if I am root - it responds
Code:

[root@knox knox]# ls -a .gvfs
ls: cannot access .gvfs: Permission denied

it shows in nautilus - its permissions are that i am the only one who can access it.

usually when I do a find I get an error message syaing that it can not be accessed. even if I am root or usiong sudo.

also strange - if I am root I can not start nautilus, but I can used sudo to start it.

when I am root it says

Code:

nautilus

(nautilus:2824): EggSMClient-WARNING **: Failed to connect to the session manager: None of the authentication protocols specified are supported

**
GLib-GIO:ERROR:gdbusconnection.c:2270:initable_init: assertion failed: (connection->initialization_error == NULL)
Aborted (core dumped)
[root@knox knox]#

can anyone make sense of thiese peculiarities?

This is for network shares. So unless you have one mounted nothing will be there.
