Fluxbox + idesk
I am trying to get idesk to start up when X starts, so I added

idesk &
to my .xinitrc file and restarted X, .xinitrc did not execute the idesk command. idesk is configured properly(I can run idesk from command line once booted in X and the icons load just fine) Anyone know a way I can have idesk startup with X.

Can you please post how you did it so others can learn from your hard work/genius.

Well I go straight into GDM rather than typing startx from the CLI. When you use a session-script such as gdm it checks /etc/X11/Sessions rather than .xinitrc or .xsessions. So I could of just added idesk into the Sessions directory. I however, just created a bash script with a list of items that I wanted to add at startup and had this line
in ~/.fluxbox/init

Read from that bash script.
