Fluxbox Help

I have been looking for a graphical file manager that I can use with fluxbox. I've downloaded a few from freshmeat and tried compiling them but have yet to get any to work. Does anyone know of one that is easy to get working with fluxbox?

Also, how can I change to a different Window Manager/GUI?

some file managers:
Gentoo
FileRunner
Simple File Manager
Midnight Commander

you can change to a different WM with Fluxbox menu > window managers.
not sure if this is available in the stable release, though.

I may be one of a kind who would recommend this, but have you tried DFM? It's a very nice and simple file manager, and it was one of the first things I ever compiled in my life -- all you need are the gtk+ 1.x development libraries. I like to think of it as a very light rendition of windows explorer or OS/2's nice but now extinct file manager.

However, it will also put icons on your desktop -- they can be disabled, though.

If you're looking for console-based, I'd say midnight commander is your best bet.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll be sure to check some of those out.

About changing my window manager...anyone know what file I can edit or what command to change? I am using the fluxbox wm from slackware 9.1 cd and dont have the option in menu.
