Angry Flashplayer/Nvidia/Firefox conflict?

Hi

Ok background first.
My OS is Mepis 11, I have Firefox version 42, I am using a Nvidia Gforce 210 graphic card and Adobe Flashplayer is the latest Linux version.

A few years ago I had no trouble at all apart from when using the BBC iplayer and watching a live program the colours were all wrong. It was OK in a recorded program. There was no problem with other iplayers. All the website themselves were Ok.

This all changed when the BBC altered their website. The website is Ok but now the colours are all wrong when using the BBC iplayer in any circumstance. Again other iplayers on other websites are OK. I then started getting clashes with Abobe Flashplayer in all websites. And more recently Firefox has started to crash very frequently e.g. five or six times a day.

I have tried other browsers but it is exactly the same regarding the colours. I have downloaded but not installed what I think is the latest driver for my graphics card. Presumably I need to do “init1” to get out of X and the run the driver. Before I do this has anyone got any better ideas of what is going on? Or indeed how i might investigate the problem.

for a Gforce 210 that is the now legacy support 340.96

as per windows go to the nvidia site and type in your card and search
this is 100% the same for linux as windows

or grab it here
http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html

but using the nvidia driver in your package manager is WAY WAY WAY WAY EASIER!!!!
than using the NVIDIA.run

for the .run you have to manually REINSTALL for EVERY AND ALL!!!! "Kernel" , "xorg/x11" , and "mesa" updates

the bbc site is really now a MICROSOFT only site
the bbc iplayer needs the Microsoft dot net based DRM

for the bbc
boot into windows10
there are other options but using win10 is the easiest

I'm not sure about outside the UK but inside the UK it can still be used with Firefox under Linux.

As to the issue with colours this almost sounds like an old issue with Flash and NVIDIA which was resolved about 2 years ago -- which version of Flash are you using, grabro?
