Flash Player for Konqueror

I'm posting here, because I still consider myself to be a newbie.

I subscribe to NetFlix, but can not watch the online films they have because they will play on IE only, not Firefox, etc.

I've heard that Konqueror can identify itself as IE running on XP. I thought I could watch the online NetFlix films that way.

I installed Konqueror, but am stuck at trying to install Flash Player for Konqueror. And from what I've read, it's not available for Konqueror??

Is Flash Player available for Kon, and do you know how I can install it.

Thanks.

Firefox has an extension called "User Agent Switcher" which will allow FFx to masquerade as IE or a number of other browsers. Just download it and install it. No need to switch to Konqueror unless you prefer konqueror to FFx.
cheers,
jdk

I haven't tried "User Agent Switcher" yet, but Netflix is telling me it will play on Firefix 2 or higher. From what I can tell, the stumbling block seems to be the OS which must be....you guessed it.

Windows

* Windows XP with Service Pack 2, or Vista
* Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher; or Firefox 2 or higher
* 1.2 GHz processor
* 512 MB RAM

Then I guess I'll just have to buy one month's subscription to NetFlix and see if I can view the online movies using FF w/user agent.

And I also was clued in by a friend that you can choose Tools in Konqueror and select Netscape Plugins, and it will load the Flash Player. I haven't tried this yet.

I'll let you know how that goes. And let you know about FF w/user agent.

if you use apt-get to install konqueror-nsplugins this will allow konqueror to run Netscape Plugins, than you should be able to download the flash plug in for netscape by navigating to adobe.com from Konqueror

The real issue is Silverlight/Moonlight. The version needed for Linux to play Netflix online movies is not available yet. http://www.mono-project.com/Moonlight
