fixing kernel errors

I have been messing with linux for a few days, and have managed to mess my kernel up a few times. Sometimes when the machine locks up and I have to do a hard reset, it recognizes the improper shut down. Then it tries to boot, and a get a fatal kernal error. So far I have reinstalled FC2 5 times to fix the problem and I was wondering if ther is a better way to go about fixing a problem like that? Thanks in advance!

Update: I just finished the 6th install and did a test. Appears that the kernal only has an error after a hard reset or faulty shutdown after I install ndiswrapper. Hmm... just an fyi to help with the issue. Maybe I need to know how to remove ndiswrapper from the kernal when the error occurs, if that is possible?? Thanks.
