First Kernal Module


Hi,
Thanks for help & support.
Now i installed make & build-essential package.
But it shows the following error during make...

..........:~/sample/samp$ sudo apt-get install build-essential
Password:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
build-essential is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
............:~/sample/samp$ make
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.15-26-386/build M=/home/x/sample/samp modules
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.15-26-386/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [all] Error 2
............:~/sample/samp$



Any other package has to be installed....

Required for "module build" : 'linux-headers'

The version must match the installed 'linux-image',
like linux-headers-2.6.15-57-386 / linux-image-2.6.15-57-386

hi,
I have installed the linux kernal headers and my log is...

make -C /lib/modules/2.6.15-26-386/build M=/home/arun/sample/samp modules
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.15-26-386'

make[2]: *** No rule to make target `/home/arun/sample/samp/Makefile'. Stop.

make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.15-26-386'
