I want to know how can I setup the firewall that came with mandrake 8.0. I use dialup to connect to the internet.

Have you gone to the Mandrake Command Center and configured the Firewall there?

Man, I need to try mandrake 8, it seems as if you can do everything from the mandrake command center.....
Just givin you a hard time CragStar.
But for real, if you can do all that from there, maybe I need to switch, I haven't used Mandrake since 7.0

Talking Are you startin something??? hey hey??

Juuuuuust for the record my main distro at the moment (I like to get around!) is Debian. Also on the same HD is Mandrake 8.0, which in my view is a godsend to newbies, basially because everything is done from the MCC (Mandrake Control Centre). I was really impressed with it, until I wanted to do something which was not in there, and then I stopped using Mandrake. Besides, one of the reasons why I started to use Linux was the fact of being able to configure any part of the OS I wanted. I can see why Mandrake is so popular with linux lay men. It was my first distro (7.2), and I think one of the best.

I dont know if you would really enjoy the Mandrake experience now though Trickykid, especially if you have quite a bit of experience of Linux.

MCC does make the answers nice and short though
