Firefox Wont Open in Openbox on Arch
I have just recently installed Arch and I decided to go with Openbox as a stand-alone desktop. Unfortunately I am having some trouble getting it to work as it should.
Currently I have Openbox, Arch, SLiM and Tint2 all updated to it's newest versions. My exact procedure: Turn on computer, log into my user account in command-line, type "sudo slim", log into my user account in SLiM, right click desktop, Internet>>Firefox. The result is literally nothing. No msgbox saying it doesn't exist like when I click something like Nautilus -- which I don't actually have. I also checked "ps -A | grep firefox" nothing showed up. I can fairly safely conclude that it just does nothing. I also tried "firefox" in the xterm, which says "firefox: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: 9-satalist_get_data" The above error is also shown when I cd to /usr/lib/firefox and run "firefox" (with and without sudo). Does anyone know what might be wrong? I have a feeling I configured something wrong, as the Openbox wiki is quite vague in configuration and installation instructions. Does anyone know of a link that provide much more thorough instructions? Thanks for reading, please share if you have any input at all. EDIT: I installed and tested Thunar on Openbox too. It, also doesn't open, but gives no error. Only xterm seems to be working at the moment. |
You might try updating glib and gtk.
