Just a guess but look here. /usr/lib/firefox
This is where the rpm I had at one time installed it at.
If not do a search for firefox from /

this is what i did, did i do something wrong because i don't see a link in my browsers startmenu option.


step 1) tar -xzvf home/tech/firefox.tar.gz
step 2) cd firefox-installer
step 3) ./firefox-installer
step 4) installed to /opt/firefox/1.0/
step 5) ln -s /opt/firefox/1.0/ /usr/local/

it creates a folder called 1.0 in there and looks like a shortcut in italics.
what did i do wrong?

k i think i figured it out

i did this btw im using mandrake 10.1

installed firefox to /opt/firefox (so the actual files were in the firefox folder)
ln -s /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/local/firefox (created the softlink)
added an application to system menu with drak config (added the app to all users, i did this in root)
