firefox 3.0 problem

hey my firefox 3.0 is messing up, like it takes forever to load up and you can only type like 2 letters in the address bar before it starts to lag again. idk, ive used linux for a while now but still dont even come close to understanding it. but i uninstalled and reinstalled the firefox and it still does it. im thinking about just switching back to firefox 2.0 (what im using now) but all my plugins are messed up and dont work, but all my bookmarks and saved passwords still do

Firefox 3.0 has not been released, so, you are using a beta or rc. You should specify that, and if using a beta, you should migrate to rc. And if there are problems, the first thing you should do is to uninstall ALL the plugins and try a vanilla firefox. Most problems are caused by cpu or memory hungry plugins. If nothing of that works, you should try a clean configuration (move ~/.mozilla/ elsewhere and test).

If you can't still stand firefox3, you will go back to 2.0. If the plugins doesn't work, uninstall them all, go to it's home page, read the instructions and install the correct version of the plugin for firefox 2.x. Not all the versions of the plugins work with all versions of firefox.
