Hi , Could anyone guide me how to install firefox on linux? The files in tarball quite different from usual linux files , thank you.

Tarball installation
 
I'm sorry but i don't want to use RPM files , i want to install from the tarball , please anyone guide me...

Download the source tarball and then I would mkdir firefox <thats in your home directory> move the tar.bz2 to firefox and tar xvfj <filename> then cd to the new file created,I think it is mozilla. then ./configure make and su make install.You will most likely be missing something.If you get a error track down what it is looking for and try ./configure again,good luck and have fun

Sorry but the installation files are different from the normal ,

devanderan@linux:~/firefox-installer> ls
config.ini firefox-installer-bin install.ini watermark.png
firefox-installer header.png license.txt xpi

try typing ./firefox-installer or sh firefox-installer, I believe I installed from the tarball and it will open up a GUI to guide you through the install, but one of those commands should get you to the GUI

That is the installer not the source tarball.there is a README there I'm sure.
