Finding files by date

I have a newer server I am setting up and need to bring some of the files off the old server over to the new one. What I am trying to figure out is what command(s) would I use if I was looking for files newer than a specific date i.e "10/20/2007" in my /u and /www directories?
I have thousands of files to look through which is why I am going this route. I did this once but it was so long ago and dont remember how I did it.

Thanks for the help

The command I would use would be find with the -newer switch.
