Those images kinda look like plasma? Could also ask here: https://www.deepin.org/aboutus.html and "Forums?"

Keep in mind as always to do personal (or pricey) data backups...

No it's not. Control center only shows the default theme and it doesn't allow you to change to other themes (like in the themes folder)

KDE 5 then? If so it is limited to it's infancy.

Try looking trough /etc and /etc/X11 plus ~/.folders

Sounds like other themes were not added to the build and the feature setting is missing.

This should be available directly from the Control Center > Personalization > Theme

Installing the Tweak Tool is an option if you want the dark theme.

i Went ahead and installed KDE Plasma and it's even more frustrating

The window you open only stays at the top left and it's so small, i don't know how to maximise it.
Also the window doesn't move for other windows, they just stack on top of each other and you have to close the top one to get to the other.

I followed the instructions on another post. System Settings > Windows Behaviour > Windows Rules > New > Size and Position > Maximised horizontally" and "maximised vertically" > Apply Initially > ticked radio button to Yes. But it did not change the window size at all.

Awesome man. That did the trick, it was not added to the build. Now If I want to install my own theme (i downloaded a .gz file.. a bunch of files) how can i implement that theme?

Cool:-

While in 'backgrounds' click on the plus sign to add the theme you want from what you downloaded and it should add it.

Sorry dudalemon I'm not good with KDE so I won't be much help there.

I have not had those (KDE) issues but no experience with Deepin either. Community or company based distros (built on others) can be great but I prefer(\netinst) going to the source, no pun.

Off topic: seeing Ztcoracat's distro Korora looks cool? I have not run an .rpm distro for sometime now will have to check that out. Thanks.

Hi ,first take a break for a day

then come back

Gnome3 ( the screenshot is gnome3 ) is a royal mess
Gnome2 was GREAT 3 ??????? well - a mess and a mistake

BUT

with some reading and looking and "playing around" ( use a pad of paper and take notes so you can UNDO!!! things )

it can be made workable
http://www.zdnet.com/article/how-to-...sktop-gnome-3/
https://debian-handbook.info/browse/...interface.html
KDE
this is a WHOLE different ball of wax

kde can be SO customized and has SO MANY!!! settings that can so SO MANY things

it can be too much some times

but if you use just basic settings and do not go overborad with "eye candy" it works well

John VV:
Why do yo say Gnome 3 is a mess?

I haven't had any problems with it.

@ dudalemon:

The download took a while but I have the .iso of Linux Deepin now.-
I still have to check the integrity of the file but if it's a go..........
When I have the time tomorrow I'll install it and toy with it and than I'll know more of what your working with.

The installation of Linux Deepin went well.
I installed it on 'Boxes' which is a VM that came with Korora.

Linux Deepin is nice!-
