Question File type identification ??


can anyone tell me how Linux OS identifies the file type and match it to the relevant application to access it ??

If this is homework then why not do a google search for your answer?

You can also type this in a terminal and it will give you some information:

I went through man file .. I understood how file identification happens in the OS...
