file transfer from linux to xp


I am looking for an easy way to transfer files from suse 8,2 to xp. telnet does not work on linux and ssh not on xp. I tryed samba, but that is not a fast and easy way for a newbie. the computers are connected through a router.

telnet does not work on linux and ssh not on xp
OpenSSH DOES work on W2K, XP (aka Pitiful Operating Systems). Check out
http://lexa.mckenna.edu/sshwindows/d...1-20031015.zip . Easy to install and configure.

No telnet on Linux? It is often not installed or depreciated due to security concerns, but can usually be installed. It is not what you want anyway.
If the Linux PC is running ssh and the firewall is not blocking it, the XP PC can connect with PuTTY. There are also PuTTY scp and sftp add-ons.

OK, thanks, openssh is now runing on XP. I am working on the passwordfile now, but i think i'll manage that problem.

why not setup an ftp server and transfer it through ftp?
