File System Mounting

I need to add a new hard drive into my Linux box, then format it as an NTFS volume. Lastly I need to mount the NTFS disk to my Linux File System using the bash shell. Does anyone know how to format the drive in Redhat 9 as an NTFS volume and mount it.

Thank for read and your advise.

Formatting a disk is one thing, putting a filesystem on it is another thing. For formatting you can use fdisk, and to create a file system on the device use any of the available mkfs tools that's appropriate.

If that is really RH9 (codename Shrike) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Hat_Linux be aware that it's extremely old an not supported/updated in yrs.
Strongly advise using a current distro eg Fedora 11, Centos 5.3 (RHEL free version) or RHEL 5.3 if you want paid support.
