File size limit on printer queues?

I am sending fairly large files to a printer queue (approx. 500mb each). When sending individually I don't have any problems but when sending more than 3, I lose files. I don't see any errors at the sending end.

I'm guessing there is a limit of 2gb on a printer queue but can't see anything in the documentation to confirm this??

So my question is... is there a limit? If so, can I do anything to increase that limit?

Thanks

Try telling us your distro, what print queue package you are using (CUPS?), and what application you are using.

Your post doesn't provide any useful information.

You don't mention your linux distro, whether it's 32bit or 64bit or what filesystem your linux box is using. Any of these may impose a 2Gb max file size limit.

If you can send 3 of your ~500mb files but not more then this sounds like it could be the case that your distro/filesystem limits are being reached.

What is the make and model of your printer? If sending separate print files then I would expect separate jobs and so should not expect a filesystem issue.

You can check cups log using a Web browser localhost:631 to verify. It's possible the printer driver or printer has a bug when it's buffer is full.
