file sharing with windows
I am new with Linux and would like to find if I can share files,
e-mails, pictueres etc. with windows users if a change to Linux? I want to find out everything i can to see if Linux is for me. Thank you for your help. |
If you mean they will be able to read/view files created in linux, the answer is yes. virually all files created in linux can be seen/read by windows.
If you are asking about networking, basically the answer is the same. There are tools to make a linux box and a windows box interact. |
do you recomend any new linux programs already in use?

Fedora Core 3 comes with everything if you click the "install all" during install and it will be very easy to achieve what you want to do. It actually has a network places that lets you talks with windows computers easily and vice-versa but for the most risk free way get Samba and the SWAT plugin for it so it is easy to configure but again Fedora comes with it pre-installed.
