File operation in kernel space

Hi everyone,
I'm just looking for performing a file operation in kernel space i.e open a file and write "kernel panic" and store it when the kernel encounters a panic state.
Is this possible? I'm aware that file operation are not safe in kernel space.yet this is just for debugging purpose. Can someone help me in this or direct me to some online tutorials?

That's what kernel logging is for, why not use it?
