File Manager doesn't open in Xcfe

I just installed Xcfe. When I run my "menu" and click on File Manager, nothing happens. Does anyone know what the problem is and also is there another way of opening the file manager? Thanks for the help.

how did you install xfce? what distro? you could try launching it from /opt/xfce4/bin/xffm (or wherever your distro puts it, maybe /usr/bin/xffm, etc.)

The Xfce4 menu seems to point to the rox file manager even though it is not installed in base ubuntu or as part of the xfce install.

To install Rox run the following:

apt-get install rox-filer

Alternately you can update the application that the file manager menu choice points to as follows:

1) Goto menu -> settings -> Xfce4 menu editor
2) Change The File Manager command to: xffm
