file is too large to edit


I want to edit file more then 72Mb in mc but got "file is too large to edit". How to edit it?

emacs is one option.

I'm not trying to just pun you off to read the manuals but there shouldn't ever be any reason people repeat information that is already available to anyone with a computer, linux install and or internet connection..
