File association problem

I'm trying to set up Gnome (Fedora Core 1) to open .pdf files using Acrobat Reader. I've gone to the File Types and Programs window and edited the .pdf listing to use Acrobat Reader a dozen times. Each time, it still opens the .pdf file with Gnome PDF Viewer. Acrobat Reader doesn't even show up on the list of programs to open the file with.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, in advance, for your help.
