ffmpeg grabbing audio and video


im trying to record video and audio with ffmpeg using this command
ffmpeg -f alsa -i hw:1,0 -f video4linux2 -s 320x240 -i /dev/video1 -f m4v test.m4v

i get this error
[alsa @ 0x96d5be0]cannot set channel count to 1 (Invalid argument)


i tried using /dev/dsp but i dont have dsp in dev on my ubuntu machine

Googling "cannot set channel count to 1" says that "FFmpeg provide only 1 channel for input as a default".( see the post on 31-Oct-2010 21:27 from plodder in this thread.

So, you might have to put "-ac 2" before "-i hw:1,0".

got it sorted thanks

ffmpeg -f alsa -ac 2 -i hw:1,0 -f video4linux2 -s 320x240 -i /dev/video0 -target pal-dvd -aspect 16:9 out.mpg
