1. is linux and its different distributions (mandrake, debian, suse, etc) all open source,?

2. if so, is it possible to obtain the source code for linux and its different distributions?

3. is linux and its different distributions (mandrake, debian, suse, etc) all coded in C or C++?

4. is linux and/or its different distributions required to be opensource by the government? (i dont remember where i heard this one)
