feh image viewer
feh displays images in particular directory as follows
feh -F /root/Desktop/images I want to display images one by one.(i.e)it displays image if i press 'n' key from keyboard it will display next image. if i press 'p' key from keyboard it displays previous image.help me. Thanks velu |
Hrrm, just tried (CentOS 6) and that's exactly what it does. feh -F (for fullscreen) <directory_name> and it shows each image, going to the next or the previous one if I hit n or p.
What distribution are you using? To view the /root/Desktop/images, you'd have to be logged in as root. |

Am using ubuntu 10.04 LTS. it works in my distribution.
but in a particular directory i have 9 images.if i press 'n' it displays next next images. if i press 'n' at 9 times it displays upto 9 images.after i press 'n' it shows first image in a directory.i won't display it.i want to stop it.what i do?? |
I'm sorry, but your question isn't quite clear. Exactly what is happening. Do you mean that if you press n 9 times, it displays each image, but if you press n again, it won't display an image? In my case, I'm finding that I might have to press n more than once after it reaches the last image. That is, I press n 9 times, then, the next time, I don't see anything, but if I press n a few more times, it goes back to the first image.
If this is only happening in one directory, it might even be worth making a new directory in another user's $HOME directory, and seeing if the problem persists. |

if press 'n' 9 times it displays last image in a directory.assume directory contain only 9 images.
i press 'n' 10th times it displays first image, 'n' press 11th times it display second image in a directory. i want to stop this repeated display. can u understand. |
Ah, I understand now. I'm afraid, though, that that seems to be the expected behavior from what I get from the man page, so I don't have a solution for you.

oh sad.ok if i got any idea, i will post you.
Thanks for ur reply. Thanks velu |
That doesn't mean there isn't an answer, just that I don't see one in the man page. The way I (personally) use it, is to set a background, for example,
feh --bg-scale <my_image_directory/myimage.jpg>, so I've never run into the problem. That stays there. If you're trying to set a static background image, then you can do it like that. The man page is long, but pretty easy to understand. |
