fedora3 w/motorola wn825g driver install help needed

new rookie user (just got fedora install and first boot last night) I want to install a wifi card, but can't understand the instructions that i've found on the net. i see that there are emulators available that use the windoze drivers, but i don't understand how to use them. system is as follows; dell lattitude cpt, fedora3, motorola wn825g card. the install was from the 'dummies' book dvd to a blank hard drive. I also have a 2wire 802.11g card. i don't have a preference of which i use. Is this enough information? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Rex Carrs

Have you tried the HCL from this excellent site?
http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...t=1593&cat=all

You can install ndiswrapper using yum. No brainer... also see the mini-howto:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...180_mini_HOWTO
... discussed here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=249644

You should see www.fedorafaq.org/FC3 and www.mjmwired.net for a no-nonsence FC3 post-install guide.

http://fedoranews.org/mediawiki/inde...ng_Ndiswrapper

It's the same method - only you have a different win driver.

Basically, you enable the livna repository; then...

# yum install ndsiwrapper kernel-module-ndiswrapper-$(uname -r)

Obtain your driver - it will have a pile of files in it ... you need the .inf and the .sys file.

Copy these two files to another directory (get rid of the other files, you won't be needing them)... and from that directory invoke ndiswrapper to load the module thus:

# /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper -i <driver>.inf

And that's it.
