fedora remformating hard drive


hi,

I installed fedora core 5. but now i want to install xp again. when i put the xp pro cd and restart it says configuring you hard drive and it takes hours with blank scree. do i have to reformat the hard drive?

any suggestions welcome

Use QtParted, available in distros like Knoppix or Kannotix, to resize FC5 first to obtain unallocated hard disk space. In FC5 use this empty space, say 15 to 25Gb, to create a NTFS partition. XP installer will find it and install itself into it.

The worst thing in any installation is to give the entire disk to an installer.
