Fedora multimedia howto

all 11 lines of the howto are copied below,
-------------------------------
Fedora won't distribute from their site because Macromedia's license doesn't permit it, but there are no other legal barriers to using the RPMs at http://macromedia.mplug.org/.

Follow those directions, dropping the Macromedia repository configuration in your /etc/yum.repos.d/ directory. It should look much like this:

[macromedia]
name=Macromedia for i386 Linux
baseurl=http://macromedia.mplug.org/rpm/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=http://macromedia.mplug.org/FEDORA-GPG-KEY

Then do the installation:

yum install flash-plugin
------------------------------------------------------

all files in /etc/yum/repos.d end in ".d", so is /repos.d a repository itself?

so does "dropping the Macromedia repository ... in directory" mean copying the 6 lines from {macromedia] to gpgkey= ... GPG-KEY in the repos.d directory over the 8 ... .repo files?

my ability to follow directions seems near zero but of course thanks for any generous time ... KELLY

Actually, repo files go in /etc/yum.repos.d and end in .repo, so copy the text above to /etc/yum.repos.d/macromedia.repo and you should be OK

Quote:
ls /etc/yum.repos.d
adobe-linux-i386.repo fedora-updates-testing.repo fedora.repo livna-testing.repo
fedora-rawhide.repo fedora-updates.repo livna-devel.repo livna.repo
