Fedora Linux Upgrade

I have RedHat 9 installed presently and it works well but I read that Fedora will be the next "free Desktop" version. I have downloaded the latest iso's and am wondering if it will update my RedHat 9 or if I will have to perform a clean install. Does any one know ?

I think Im sure of it that you can.

Even tho this is from Test 2 Anaconda, its most likely in 3.

(I couldnt find any Test 3 installs, since it was the same as 1 and 2, so no one cared to bother to make them)

You can use the iso's to upgrade your current version of RH9 to the Fedora Core Project. They have instructions over at www.fedora.redhat.com that should help you. It appears to keep your existing data untouched and only upgrade the necessary files to move to the Fedora distro.

Let us know how it goes if you decide to upgrade as I'm on the fence right now since my RH9 is working wonderfully.

I installed Fedora on a test system and all seemed to go well. I am going to try and upgrade tonight and I will let you know how it goes.

OK
The upgrade did not go so smoothly. I ended up installing a clean RH9 then upgrading and that when OK. I had a lot of little issues that if I had more experience probably could have been fixed. The update feature does not seem to work but it is plainly stated that the distro is still in the testing stage. So if what you have is working don't bother or wait till they come out with a final release.
