fedora kernel panic
 

This is my first experiance with linux so im not sure what information is needed. I installed fedora core 1.9 test 2 and everything seemed to be going fine until it came time to boot.
During boot this is the message i receive

I have googled in atempt to find a solution and have found some information but none of the solutions seem to work for me. Please help................

I had the same problem with 1.91. I tried everything I could to no sucsess till I started pulling cards out of my computer.. First the network then sound and so ofthe onec I got it striped I still had the problem... The solution Pulled and reseated the ram... I dont know why it worked but it did.. Hope it helps.

I tried reseating my ram with no sucess here is some addtional information about my system dual boot with winXP nivida Gforce graphics sb audigy live sound card 2.6 intell(ht) fedora installed on second drive. Could any of theese be causing the problem? I read while searching for information that disabling 1394 in bios solved this problum for some and "chkconfig kudzu off" for others. How can I disable Kudzu if I cant boot. Thanks for your help dbeltz

The fedora core name itself suggest that it is still a test right? So if you want to try out linux just download fedora core 1. By the way disabling kudzu means that you disable autodetection of the hardware.

The fact that i installed a test release may be the cause of my problem however the fact that their are many users of Fedora core test 2 that are not experiencing this particular problem (including those that are new to linux) suggest that there is a solution other than installing core 1. I realize that auto detection of hardware is disabled but if as soon as kudzu begins to run i get a kernel panic auto detection of hardware is irrelevant right? Being new to linux does not mean new to computing as a hole. I choose to install a test release of my own free will. After doing extensive research on which distro and which version of fedora core i would try. After a week with no other solution i choose the one that will allow me to boot. I posted here because I am hoping for solution that is not obvious (install fedora core1 or disable kudzu).
