Well, this is two separate problems. As I'm sure others will point out, Fedora7 is old....the latest Fedora is 9, and may solve some of your problems. If you've just done a fresh install of Fedora7, consider getting the latest Fedora9 (or the latest Ubuntu or OpenSuSE), which will probably support your hardware a bit better.

You don't say what kind of hardware you're using, so it's hard to troubleshoot. I'm guessing it's a laptop, since you mention wireless, but can't be sure. Check your mixer settings, and make sure you're not muted on any channels, and adjust the volume.

You don't say anything about what wireless hardware you have, so it's impossible to help with that. Provide more good, clear information, if you want meaningful help.

As I said...if this is a fresh installation, reinstall a current OS, and your problems may just disappear.

what are you using to PLAY the sound that you're not hearing? Linux has various audio "systems" like ALSA, Jack, etc. , it could be that the one your OS has is not the one the player is outputting to.

on Fedora 7 there ARE no updates to get the wireless working . If you want to stay with 7 then any new driver for it( wireless card) must be built from the source code .
as for sound ??? many reasons but with out knowing your hardware i can not even guess .
what program are you using to play music and are the audio codces installed . If so from where .
