antibill 07-10-2004 06:45 AM

I also am having this problem. I have installed FC 2 and Mandrake 9.2 before with these discs (on another computer) but they wont boot up on the machine I just built. I have tried Mandrake 9.2, 10.0, and FC 2 and they all lock up at the same place. Where it loads the kernels. Could this have to do with my MoBo - Asus A8V Deluxe?

iv fixed it m8...simple entre the boot line

noacpi acpi=off

shamgar03 07-13-2004 04:19 PM

What do you mean no acpi? You just say "vgahi noacpi " at the prompt?

antibill 07-14-2004 03:22 AM

ok when u turn it on and it says hit entre type in 'noacpi acpi=off'

shamgar03 07-14-2004 07:05 AM

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home.

It said couldnt find the kernel noacpi and then it went to the "welcome to mandrake Linux (10.0) " freeze screen...
