fedora crashed


hi frens! I hv faced a problem in fedora. Afters installing mplayer I found that the sound was not coming in a normal way. So someone has suggested to install a new kernel.When I hv installed a new kernel then fedora got crashed. And I hv geard that the gud point of linux systyem is det it never get crashed. So wat might me the problem.....
