Fedora Core 6 won't start after updates installed - Starting udev: Disabling IRQ #16
Hi everyone,
I have downloaded and installed all (268) packages for Fedora Core 6. After the successful installation it asked me to reboot the computer, which I did. It didn't reboot correctly, because it got frozen so I turned it off and turned it back on. The computer does not boot, it stops at the beginning of booting process: "Starting udev: Disabling IRQ #16 [OK]" If I do interactive booting process, it stops randomly on different services. Any help appreciated. Thanks! |
FC6 is supposed to have gone legacy last December.

Best advise: use a live distro or recovery to backup your files then install a non-legacy OS. |
Solved!
When I boot from the second kernel everything starts fine. I modified the booting order so it boots from the second kernel. |
There was more than one kernel?
Which ones are installed? (You can list them from /boot/grub/grub.conf). |
