Fedora Core 4 MIDI setup

I have had some success in the past setting up MIDI on Debian distros but it seems that Core 4 is somewhat of a different process. So, can someone outline the steps needed (baby steps please) to setup MIDI on Fedora Core 4? I have the sound fonts and awesfx loaded. Any help will be appreciated.
