Fedora Core 3 DIRECTORY STRUCTURE
I'm absolutely new to Linux and for that matter to Fedora Core 3. But I really want to learn how to use it and substitute Windows with it. Right know I have a double boot W2K-Fedora Core 3 system. Everything runs pretty well. I have managed to install a couple of programs (WineHq or Bluefish).
But, I haven't understood where ANYTHING is! I don't understand the directory structure at all, i.ex., what do the folder names stand for? Where are the programs installed... just overall?
So, my question is: how can I come to understand the directory structure of Fedora Core 3? I've browsed several books and this forum, and I haven't found something like:
"By default, programs are installed here and here."
"This is the directory where you can find such and such."
For example, is there an equivalent to Windows' "Program Files" folder?
Thanks a lot!
