fedora core 3 and mod_rewrite

i have at work a linux server with fedora core 3 installed php / apache and myssql full configured and working with 2 website up and running.

these server was configured by an old coleg who was faired so imust do his job now.

I need to know .. how can i configure these machine to enable mod_rewrit, or to reinstall apache and reconfigure it, or to install on other version of fedora server ..

I am a beginner and i need step by step instructions .. in one of those situation above.

the apache is in folder /usr/local/apache2( and in /modules are only 2 files: httpd.exp and libphp4.so)

in etc/httpd/config.d/ is only one file:php.conf

so i did not found any others modules installed elsewhere .. and how was compiled these apache .. or if it was preinstalled in fedora core 3

the file httpd.conf is:

# KeepAlive: Whether or not to allow persistent connections (more than

Support for FC3 was dropped several years ago. There have been no official updates of any kind since that time. The current version for Fedora is F10 with F11 due to be released in May. Any one version of Fedora will only have support for thirteen months. You may want to consider switching to Centos. Centos is RHEL(Red Hat Enterprise Linux) with the logos removed. It is free to download/update (unlike RHEL) and has a five year (plus) support life. The current release of Centos/RHEL is 5.3 .
