Fedora Core 3 and HP Deskjet 6122

Hello, I am having trouble printing with Fedora Core 3 and an HP Deskjet 6122 usb printer. I'm trying to set the queue type device as /dev/usb/lp0 instead of the default /dev/lp0 and I get this error:

'/dev/usb/lp0' does not exist, or is not writable.

i have no idea what to do.

Thanks!

Could it really be /dev/bus/usb/XXX/lp0 instead????

Check; ls -al /dev/bus/usb

XXX == the usb port number, since my laptop has three usb ports I have the three ports; 001, 002 and 003

CUPS is installed. I tried adding the printer with CUPS instead of the fedora print manager, selecting USB printer #1. It still wont print, giving the error message "printer not connected" The problem isn't so much with CUPS or the driver, but with USB connectivity i believe.

ls -al /dev/bus/usb

gives no such file or directory.

ls -al /dev

doesnt seem to show usb.

the chipset drivers seem to be installed however.

Thank you!

# enforcing - SELinux security policy is enforced.
# permissive - SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing.
# disabled - No SELinux policy is loaded.
