I think what rakriege means to indicate is: "try using the full path to ldconfig, which is normally /sbin/ldconfig". If it still doesn't work, try locate ldconfig to find out if it's on the system at all, and if it is, and you are running the command from a console as a user who has used the su command, then try running the command from a console as a user after using the su - command instead. Obviously, if it's not on the system for some reason, install it.
