Thumbs up Fedora Core 2

Hey All,

SO i just about died last night when I flashed the BIOS on my e-machines M6809 laptop and the CPU just hung there forever. All I could Think was "Crap, there went 1600 clams."

Then things startedworking and I got the "dumb BIOS" out of the machine and replaced it with the "smart BIOS" that allowed for a dual boot. After messing around with Gentoo 64 bit for a long time, I called it quits, took the noobie root and went after the 64 but Fedora build, worked like a champ, could not be happier!!!

Thank you guys for being so informative and being able to tell newbies like me about great Linux stuff.

Going to try to get Cedega to run some games so that I can get the Microsoft Monkey off my back for good!

By the way, on my SuSE 9.1 build for the Barton home CPU, does anyone have any ideas on why I can receive, but not send e-mails using K-Mail, and if there is a better alternative to K-Mail, can someone point me in the right direction?

Again, thank so much for all your ideas/help/guidance/divine inspiration/etc., etc.!!!

Chris

Noob Extraordinaire!!!

Spoke too soon , for some odd reason Fedora tried searching for a floppy drive, and then things went south.

Completly thrashed the MBR and now am doing a complete reinstall because I could not even do a repair on Windows.......GRRRRR !!! Why do they even put the repair console in that OS, it never has worked for me anyway.

Has anyone done a dual boot on an emachine before and knows some tricks and tips? the Fedora website is good, but they don't go into much detail on the 64 bit system.

Thanks for the help (past and future).

Chris
